French Class

In 2001, at Saint Cloud High School, two teens met in French class. In this version of boy meets girl, boy does meet girl, girl says yes to some dates with boy, boy serenades girl. Love blooms, boy and girl spend a lot of time together and they remain friends through decades. Over the years, they kept in touch, attended each other's weddings, danced ballroom together, played together in a couples game night, shared their experiences of life, witnessed a growing family, supported each other through divorce and dating life as best friends, witnessed each other's evolution, and loved each other. 

After 20+ years of friendship...

During 2020, when people were creating distance, we ended up growing closer together. We realized that our life experiences had evolved us to be the best version of ourselves and be better partners for each other. Our goals and values were aligned and after careful consideration, we decided to explore things romantically.

From traveling the world to sharing the stage together, the last few years have been an adventure for both of us. We are looking forward to building on that by embarking on one of the greatest adventures of our lives.

The Proposal

Story By: Johens and Cassandra

In a not-so-distant suburb, Johens planned a spectacular proposal for Cassandra: a private helicopter ride over Disney's fireworks! As they were getting ready to leave, he cleverly hid the ring in his sock to avoid any telltale bulges in his pockets. Heading out, he mentally reviewed every detail to ensure nothing was overlooked.

While driving, Cassandra tried to guess the evening's surprise. Keeping her in suspense, Johens finally arrived at the helicopter tour's parking lot. But at the sight of the chopper, Cassandra panicked. Seeing the horror on her face at the idea of riding a helicopter. Johens, with a blank expression started devising plans A through D, each falling apart in turn until he was left with Plan E.

Under the firework-illuminated sky, he dropped to one knee, presented a dazzling ring, and popped the big question. Amidst the surprise, love, and fireworks, Cassandra said yes to marriage, trading the helicopter ride for a wilder adventure with Johens. He had asked his best friend to marry him, and she had said yes.

"She said yes to me. My person is choosing me." I couldn't have imagined a more perfect conclusion than that.
